TBC RAID, a Real Manifestation of the Results of PBL Group 4 in TB Prevention and Control

FIKES Online News - Students from the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, who are members of Group 4 of the Field Learning Experience (PBL), conducted the SERGAP TBC (Serua Tanggap TBC) activity to raise public awareness of tuberculosis (TB) prevention. This activity took place in RW 18, Serua Village, South Tangerang City. Through the SERGAP TBC activity, students strive to contribute to promotive and preventive efforts by encouraging increased public knowledge and awareness of TB, particularly at the community level. The activity took place on Wednesday (February 4, 2026).

The SERGAP TBC program consists of two main series of activities: SERASI (Serua Tanggap TBC Education) and SEDIA (Serua Tanggap TBC Media). The SERASI activity was held on February 4, 2026, targeting health cadres in RW 18. This activity provided educational materials about TB and provided effective communication to enable health cadres to optimally convey information to the community.

The SERASI program aims to improve the knowledge and capacity of health cadres in RW 18, Serua Village, in TB prevention, control, and effective communication in educating the community. Meanwhile, SEDIA aims to increase public awareness through an easily accessible calendar.

SERASI was held at the Rumah Tahfidz Preneur Baitul 'Ulum Foundation in RW 18. The event was attended by Serua Village officials, the Head of the Situ Gintung Community Health Center, the Situ Gintung Community Health Center's Health Promotion Workers, faculty advisors, speakers, RW heads, RT representatives, TB cadres, and RW 18 health cadres. The event began with preparations and a committee briefing from 7:00-8:50 AM, followed by registration of participants and invited guests, along with refreshments (risoles, lontong, bolu kukus kembang, and Bugis). After the entire participant registration process was completed, the event officially began at 09.30 WIB with an opening hosted by Nadira Lianawati and Deana Kalyca Widodo Putri as Master of Ceremony (MC).

The event continued with remarks from the village head, delivered by Yudhistira Haholongan Dwiputra Sakti. These remarks aimed to provide direction, support, and appreciation for the event. Next, remarks were delivered by the Head of the Situ Gintung Community Health Center, H. Salmun, S.E., M.Kes., who discussed the importance of tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control efforts and TB-free neighborhoods. The Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Shafa Rizka Tribanowati, delivered a final remark, expressing her gratitude to all parties who participated and supported the event.

Participants then completed a pre-test to gauge their initial level of understanding before receiving the TB-related material. The pre-test took 10 minutes to complete as part of the activity evaluation phase. Following the completion of the pre-test, the event continued with the first presentation by Dewi Utami Iriani, S.K.M., M.Kes., Ph.D. The material presented covered the definition of TB, causes and risk factors, transmission methods, signs and symptoms, prevention, control, and management of TB, as well as stigma and myths surrounding TB. Following the first presentation, the event continued with an icebreaker session led by the committee to stretch and refresh participants. The second presentation, delivered by Fajar Ariyanti, S.K.M., M.Kes., Ph.D., discussed the role of health cadres and how to educate and educate the public about TB.

The event continued with a question-and-answer session, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker regarding any material they desired. Participants who asked questions received souvenirs as a token of appreciation. Following the Q&A session, the event continued with a TB-free neighborhood commitment activity led by the Head of the Situ Gintung Community Health Center. All participants were asked to sign a prepared banner as a form of joint commitment to supporting TB control efforts in neighborhood 18.

The event continued with a post-test to determine their knowledge gained after completing the entire series of presentations. Next, participants were given pocket books as supporting materials, which were expected to help improve their understanding. A certificate of appreciation was then presented to the community unit (RW) 18 and certificates were given to the community health cadres as a token of appreciation for their support and active participation in the SERASI program. The event continued with a documentation session to capture the moment as a memento, which included a group photo and a video recording of the activity's slogan. The series of events concluded with a closing ceremony led by the Master of Ceremony (MC).

The SEDIA program was held at two locations: Posyandu A and Posyandu B. The event at Posyandu A began at 8:44 a.m. and continued until 9:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The event began with a community outreach session on the purpose and benefits of calendars as educational media, as well as information about TB. Afterward, calendars were distributed to the 15 community members in attendance. The event at Posyandu A concluded with a documentation session to capture the moment as a memento, which included a group photo.

The event at Posyandu B was held from 9:15 a.m. to 11:44 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The program began with students from Group 4 assisting the integrated health post (Posyandu) cadres in implementing their services. Following the Posyandu activities, the students continued by distributing calendars to 20 community members who came to Posyandu B.
